Commented on Post Run Stretch #10

LizLiz (Pilates for Runners) again had to modify this one for my right shoulder. Physio has diagnosed tendinitis and any stretching is painful, hopefully treatment (and lots of icing) will bring about an improvement. In the meantime Iā€™ll adapt postures when necessary.

Really felt that in the glutes on my standing leg (had a mile race previous evening, so may have partly been due to that). Also had to miss out triceps dips because of my shoulder issue, but did two lots of single leg dips instead.

Enjoyed that, good session.

I tried this again today, and for the eyes closed part I found it was a little easier if I mentally focused on an imaginary tree in the distance. I had to really concentrate to keep the tree in ā€œmy visionā€ and this seemed to help my balance.

This is definitely a session to keep returning to, not as taxing on the legs as most single leg ones perhaps but really good for balance and core.

ā€œInterestingā€ one šŸ˜„, especially with the eyes closed!

Iā€™m in, but away for a couple of weeks so may not get it completed.

Finished the June challenge, some really enjoyable sessions (and some challenging ones!)

Liz (Pilates for Runners)Ā thanks Liz. I had the same injury some years ago, and managed to get on top of it then. However earlier this year it came back again, and foolishly I left it for quite a while before seeing the physio about it (really it wasn't until I ended up with a very restricted range of motion). I've had a few rather painful sessions but the physio thinks it's probably become a case of "managing" the injury rather than being able to return to a full range of motion now. My own fault really.Ā šŸ˜ž

Another one Iā€™ve had to modify as Iā€™ve still got an issue with my right shoulder (rotator cuff).
